Thank you for registering to help with Flood Recovery. Our goal is to provide you a quality mission experience, the supplies you need on site and work to keep your team busy the ENTIRE time you are with us. To do that, we need your help.

Please keep Carma, flood@fumcmarion.org posted on the number of people within your team. This helps us find the "right" jobs and sleeping facility for you.
Be Flexible. Our desire is to let you know about two weeks prior what your team will be doing. Many of those decisions are determined by what the team did prior to your arrival, weather issues, and backorders.
Be REALLY flexible on work location. We work with four different towns all in stages of flood recovery. There is a chance we will need to slide you to another community that has an URGENT need. Our office will of course ask first, then connect you with the volunteer coordinator and hosting contact. **One reason we do this is to ensure you have the "right work" for your team and there are times your assigned town simply does not.
Bring Tools. Yes, we do have three tool trailers available for teams to use on site. However, when we have multiple teams, these tools don't stretch very far. As you discover what jobs we have planned for you, we will also suggest the right tools to bring. For a beginning idea, see Team Supplies .
Nominate a "Team Gopher". We strive to have all the supplies and construction materials on site for you upon your arrival. However, due to working with older homes and the nature of construction, we might be a tube of caulk short or need a "special" part. For those small items, we ask your team have a gopher that can get what is needed.
Youth Teams. For the youth to have the best experience, please bring adults who can teach them how to do things. 1 adult per 4 students makes the best experience. Our goal is not to have a team just do yard work or painting, however if the team doesn't bring any skills our options are limited.
